We are excited to have so much to offer all of our teens at Temple Har Shalom this year. Some programs, like Chai School classes, the new Social Action Club and our Teen Trips, are offered directly by THS. But there are other offerings for Jewish teens in our greater Jewish community that you might be interested in also, and we'd love to help you connect to any of those you are interested in trying out as well.

Below are the programs available as of September 2023. Please check off all programs you'd like to participate in, or for which you would like more information. Some programs start as early as the end of September, so make sure to take a few minutes to submit this form now.

Chai School at Temple Har Shalom:

"Chai" Holidays with Lynn Anne Cutler. Join Lynn Anne for project-based exploration of all sorts of Jewish holidays, from the popular to the obscure. We’ll cook, we’ll create beautiful and meaningful Judaica, and more. One Thursday night/month from 6:30 PM - 8:30PM.
Hot Topics Tuesdays with Rabbi Musnitsky. Learn how to see current-day conflicts, events, politics, and history-in-the-making through a Jewish lens, guided by Rabbi Musnitsky. One Tuesday night/month from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM.

Teen Engagement at Temple Har Shalom:

Grade 8 only - Club 678. Club 678 is our youth group for THS members in grades 6, 7 and 8. Club 678 plans and enjoys several social events per year.
Social Action Club with Sam Lynn. Join us as we help repair the world through social action and community service activities. Service hours may count towards those required for school, scouts, National Honor Society or other organizations. Days/times vary each month depending on the project; calendar TBD.
Day Trips. Currently planned trips include a live performance of Fiddler on the Roof on January 6, 2024 and a visit to a Holocaust exhibit in New York City (date TBD).
Grades 9+ - London Trip with Rabbi Musnitsky and Lynn Anne Cutler. February 1-5, 2024, we will fly to London, England to reunite Temple Har Shalom's Holocaust scroll with its sister scrolls on the 60th anniversary of their arrival.

Shul of Rock Teen Band with Nicole Drasin. Open to any THS teen who plays an instrument or likes to sing and wants to perform something a little different from our usual Shabbat tunes. Rehearsals approximately 2x/month on Wednesdays,and performs at select services and events throughout the year.

Chai School courses meet once per month, and include dinner. 8th and 9th graders are eligible to join one or both of the classes; just check off which you would like to join.

If you are already enrolled in Chai School, there is nothing more you need to do after checking off your classes. If you are not already enrolled for Chai School, we will send you the registration link after receiving your interest form submission (or, you can find a tab to enroll in your Shulcloud account.)

The Social Action Club, Day Trips, the London Trip, Club 678 and Shul of Rock Teen Band are open to all teens at Temple Har Shalom. Please check those options about which you would like to receive more information.

Opportunities in our Greater Jewish Community. These programs do not originate at Temple Har Shalom, and are not managed by Temple Har Shalom. If you check these boxes, you agree to share your contact information with the organizers of these activities so that they can contact you directly.

Mitzvah Mania, run by Federation of Greater Metrowest. One-time or short-term mitzvah project opportunities offered mostly during summer vacation and extended school breaks.BBYO. BBYO is pluralistic Jewish teen movement (read: youth group) aspiring to involve more Jewish teens in more meaningful Jewish experiences. The local chapter meets at THS and includes teens from our Temple and beyond.
